Rané plavecké aktivity zahrnují cvičení, která mají za úkol seznámit děti a dospělé s vodním prostředím. Začátečníci se mají naučit ovládat se, překonat strach a osvojit si základní pohyby ve vodě. Dodatečnou atrakcí jsou různé pohybové hry a zábavy ve vodě.
